How does AI video search work?
When you upload footage, Reelback runs automated transcription and AI face detection in the cloud. Every word and every face is indexed and searchable. Type a plain-English query — a quote, a person’s name, a topic — and Reelback returns timecoded results you can preview and export.
Do you store my footage?
By default, your raw footage is stored securely in AWS S3 for playback and re-processing. If you prefer, zero-storage mode processes your footage and then deletes the source files — your search index, transcripts, and face data remain fully intact.
What file formats are supported?
Reelback accepts all major production formats — ProRes, DNxHR, H.264, H.265, and more — in MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, MXF, MTS, and WebM containers, up to 100GB per file. Non-web-friendly codecs are automatically transcoded to H.264 proxies for instant browser playback.
How long does processing take?
Most footage is fully searchable within minutes of upload. Transcription and face detection run in parallel. You can start searching transcripts as soon as transcription completes — you don’t have to wait for face detection to finish.
Can I try Reelback before committing?
Yes. The $99 pilot lets you process up to 5 hours of your own footage with full search, face detection, and NLE export. If you subscribe, the $99 is credited toward your first month.
How does pricing work?
Pricing is based on hours of footage processed per month, not per-seat. Every plan includes unlimited search queries, face detection, transcription, and NLE export. Choose Starter (5 hrs), Pro (25 hrs), or Studio (75 hrs) depending on your volume.
Is my footage secure?
All footage is encrypted in transit and at rest using AWS infrastructure. Each organization’s data is fully isolated — no cross-tenant access is possible. Biometric data from face detection is never exposed to frontend clients or logged.
What NLE export formats are supported?
You can export timecoded selects as EDL, FCPXML, or CSV. EDL and FCPXML import directly into Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro with frame-accurate in/out points.
